Card Condition Guide

How we grade and describe our cards

Our Grading Scale

All cards are graded by our team before listing. We try to be conservative — if it's between two grades we list it at the lower one. Photos are always available on request.

NM

Near Mint (NM)

Card appears fresh out of the pack. May have extremely minor handling wear visible only under close inspection. Corners are sharp, surface is clean, no creases or scratches. The standard for play and collecting.

LP

Lightly Played (LP)

Minor wear visible — slight edge wear, very light scratches on the surface, or minor whitening on corners. Still looks great and fully playable. Most buyers can't tell the difference between NM and LP at a glance.

MP

Moderately Played (MP)

Noticeable wear including edge wear, light creases, scuffs, or scratches visible without close inspection. Still structurally intact and perfectly playable. Priced accordingly.

HP

Heavily Played (HP)

Significant wear — deep creases, heavy scratching, major edge wear, or staining. Card is still intact but shows obvious use. Great for budget players who just need the card to play.

DM

Damaged (DM)

Severe wear that affects the integrity of the card — tears, holes, heavy water damage, or major bends. Listed at very low prices. Check with your local game store before purchasing for tournament play.

Sports Cards

Sports cards follow similar grading but we also note any print defects, centering issues, or surface issues specific to sports cards. If a card has a notable flaw it will be mentioned in the listing notes. Photos available on request for any card over $5.
